Hot child in the city...it was 102 degrees here in Portland yesterday. Here's Ms. Uma trying to chill out.  

This picture is obviously NOT Uma-pie, it's her Mama in a silly Sears portrait- circa 1974 or so. I just found this with all my mom's things in AZ. I love how I'm smiling through my tears- a great life skill. My tears are perhaps a protest to the tights? the puffy sleeves? Sear's smell? you decide.. I posted it so that one could find a bit of me in the HAM known as Uma. What do you think?

Okay- here's home movie number two. Again, this is not going to win me any Oscars, but if you are on this dribbling gushy weblog, then you KNOW that you love Uma and you probably want to see her in her Johnny-jump-up-thingamajig. She just figured out how to actually get some air in it. When you watch the video, BE SURE to turn down the volume as I am doing psycho-baby-babble and you don't need to hear it. But here, you get to see a touch of her shining spirit. The girl's got personality. Again- turn down the volume- in the future I will be saavy and learn how to put music to this sort of thing but in the meantime you have to hear me giggle, snort, breath heavily, and do googoogaagaaaaaaa....

Here we have Uma's first home video. Not the most exciting feature, yet a real chance to see Uma in action. I repeat- not VERY interesting, but you do get to hear a lot of farting sounds and get a close up of those gams!!(the deep breathing you hear in the background is typical of Kucera's when concentrating:))

This morning, like most mornings, I awoke to the wild-eyed blissed out smile of lil Uma. It's an incredible way to start the day- jarring me into gratitude and sweetness. My housemate, Shannon, once said, "What did we do in the morning before Uma?" We all just grumpily made our way to the coffee....now it's all centered around this glorious blissbomb.
With all of her magnetism- she is sure to become the next superpower-woman-world leader-

It's almost embarrassing for me just HOW damn cute the girl is.
Shiloh's got nothing on this one.
I watch her mesmerize the masses. No one is safe from her charm, her open-mouth smiles and dolphin squeals. I've decided that both Uma and I are going to live forever. That's a mighty long time but....thats the way it's gonna be. Maaaybe when she's 100 and I'm 132, we can call it a day, but I'll wait until then to make up my mind.

one year anniversary

Today is the one year anniversary of me discovering that I was pregnant. Amazing to imagine that one year later I have this fully conscious, joyous, and gorgeous being attached to my hip. One year ago, those zygots were rapidly multiplying, and now I have this squealing, kicking, sparkling being. It seems now that her face has always been with me.
Honestly, when I realized I was pregnant, there was quite an air of uncertaintly around how things would unfold. That said, there was not one moment that I wasn't positive that I knew that this spirit coming through was a true blessing.

Here is Ms. Uma on her royal throne with her new best friend (thank you, Uncle Jim!)We were in Phoenix, Arizona all last week visiting GrandmaNancy,Uncle Casey, Aunt MAK, and sweet Cousin Lucas. She charmed all the family, and now she has her Phoenix fanclub contingency. Uma was fascinated by the ceiling fans and the Phoenix SUNS. She went swimming several times, practiced sitting up, and rolled from her back to her front several times. Here is Her Scrumptiousness....
